Hello Kigoos!

We wanted to send out one last email to conclude our 2022 Summer Swim Season!

It was an exciting weekend in Kamloops, as our Provincial Qualifiers swam many amazing races! Congratulations to all our Kigoos who competed at Provincials, either individually, or as part of a relay team. A special congratulations goes out to our Kigoos who attended their first Provincial Championships. Thank you to the parents who helped volunteer at the meet, either as a timer, or as an official. We are also so grateful to our coaching staff who travelled to Kamloops to support our swimmers.

Our club placed 10th overall out of 54 clubs, and Fraser South placed 2nd! Great job Kigoos! Be sure to check out the photos on our Instagram page. Next year Provincials will take place in Nanaimo.

Volunteer Hours
We’ve had many questions about volunteer hours. Families are able to check their hours via Sign-up Genius. If you are concerned that your family has not met their volunteer hours for the season, please send an email to volunteers@kigoos.com. There will still be a few jobs as we finish out the season (regional awards, awards night, etc.) and we can add your name to our list of volunteers we reach out to first. Thank you to everyone for all your help and support this season. Our entire club is run by volunteers, and it really does take many hands to pull off a successful season.

Looking ahead
Registration for our Tsunami Winter Maintenance program will go live soon. An email will go out to current club members first. Tsunami will run on Saturdays/Sundays from the beginning of October until the end of April. Swimmers are able to train 2 hours/week to maintain their “S” status in the summer. Swimmers who train more than 2 hours/week will have to compete as an “O cat” swimmer next summer. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Our annual awards night will take place at the end of September (Date still to be confirmed). We are looking forward to celebrating the successes of the season with everyone!

Our AGM will also take place in October (Date to be confirmed). Please watch your email for information about these upcoming dates.

Finally, we hope all families enjoy the final few weeks of Summer vacation, and have a smooth start back to school. We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Steveston Pool next Summer for our 2023 season (only 251 days away!)

See you at the pool!
