This award is given to the male and female “S” swimmer in Junior (Division 1-2), Intermediate (Division 3-4), and Senior (Division 5-8) who has the largest percentage improvement in best times year over year.
The calculation for this award is based on the four events in which the swimmer achieved the largest percentage improvement. If the event is new for the swimmer this season, their first race of the year in that event will serve as their base best time and the percentage improvement will be calculated against that time.
This award is given to the male and female swimmer training the majority of the season with the Junior Development group who has the largest percentage improvement in best times recorded during the season.
The calculation for this award is based on the three events that are 50m or longer in which the swimmer achieved the largest percentage improvement. For all swimmers, their first race of the year in each event will serve as their base best time and the percentage improvement will be calculated against that time.

This award is given to the male and female swimmer training the majority of the season with the Junior Development group who earns the most individual points for the club based on the following calculation: (Individual points scored at all Junior Development Meets x 0.25) + (Individual points scored at Regionals and Provincials x .0.75)
Bill McNulty is a long-serving Richmond City Councillor who has championed the importance of aquatics programs and facilities in the city.
This award is presented to a Senior (Division 5-8) swimmer who has been a Kigoo for five or more years, in recognition of their leadership in the club and commitment to swimming excellence.
The Gerry Soika Award was founded by the Soika family in memory of their son Gerry, a Kigoo swimmer.
The award, which embodies the values that Gerry demonstrated as a member of the Club, is presented to a Senior (Division 5-8) swimmer who has been a Kigoo for five or more years and during that time has displayed outstanding sportsmanship, a congenial attitude towards a team goal, a commitment to the betterment of their relay teams, an unselfish attitude to inspire younger swimmers, and the realization that personal gain does not always reflect glory.
The three fish in the Kigoos logo represent Fitness, Friendship, and Sportsmanship.
The Kigoo Award is presented annually to a maximum of ten swimmers across the Club who best exemplify those attributes as demonstrated by their participation and positive attitude at practices, meets, and team activities, their team spirit and volunteerism, and a general commitment to the sport of swimming, the Club and their fellow members.
The Rookie of the Year Award is presented to a first-year Kigoo swimmer (with no previous swim club experience) in Division 3 or higher who has high practice and meet attendance, demonstrates exceptional effort and a positive attitude towards training, and sees consistent improvement in their best times throughout the season.
The Coach of the Year Award is determined by a vote of swimmers and members of the Club to recognize a Richmond Kigoos Coach who shows exceptional passion for their role as a teacher, mentor, and role model, and is instrumental in helping the swimmers of the Club achieve their absolute best.
Best Time Medals are awarded in recognition of the number of times throughout the season a swimmer improves on their personal best times.
For returning swimmers, their base times are their personal best times as recorded in HyTek from the previous season. For new swimmers or returning swimmers who have never competed in a certain event, their base times are established at the first meet in which they swim the event. Swimmers are credited with “Best Time Swims” each time they improve on their previous best time, based on their fastest time swum each weekend.
Best Time Swims may be recorded at any meet throughout the season, excluding Junior Development meets, and must be in a race where the swimmer is not disqualified.
